Special Olympics World Games are the world's largest inclusive sports event. Thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities competed together in 26 summer sports and Unified Sports® in Berlin, Germany from 17 to 25 June 2023.
The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 were broadcast to hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide, showcasing athletic performance and highlighting stereotype-defying stories – changing minds and opening hearts through transformational inclusion.

We are overwhelmed! The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 were full of emotions, high-class sports and exuberant parties. Everyone experienced their own personal highlights and gained unforgettable experiences. Let us reminisce together.
Special medal moments with uncontainable joy
The Special Olympics World Games award ceremonies are among the most emotional moments of the Games. They are the moments that many of our athletes have dreamed of for a long time and there are cheers, cries of joy and tears of happiness.
#Berlin2023 Day 8: Whats on the agenda today?
The final sprint! It is day 8 and thus unfortunately already the last day of the Games. Today, the final competitions in basketball 3x3, tennis, cycling, athletics and equestrian as well as final action in gymnastics-artistic and badminton are on. And we will celebrate the big Closing Ceremony togethern. An overview of the highlights of the day can be found here.
