Credential Pick-up

Media credentials can be picked up at Messe (Entrance South) from Thursday, 15 June 2023.

Main Media Center (MMC)

The MMC will be located at Hall 6.3 of the Berlin Messe (exhibition center).

Catering

Snacks & Refreshments

Drinks such as tea, coffee and water are provided at the refreshment station together with snacks. There are food stalls for a paid catering option at all venues.

Credentials

Loss of credential

Lost and stolen accreditation cards must be reported immediately to the nearest Venue Info Point and will be reissued after 24 hours.

Credentialed individual must visit the Main Accreditation Center at Messe if their credential is lost or damaged, to inform about the misplacement of the pass.

The individual will be required to fill out a form to apply for a new credential to be issued and give a reason for the application. Credentials will be re-issued only at pre-determined Credential facilities.

Pick-up

Media credentials can be picked up at Messe from Thursday, 15 June 2023.

Requirements:

— Credential Collection: Media representatives have to present in person at the Media Entrance South– Eingang Süd with confirmation email and ID submitted at the time of registration.
— Please expect some waiting times.

Rights-holding Broadcaster Credentials:

— Rights-holding broadcasters with bulk-upload registrations can pick-up their credentials by appointment. Please send an email to broadcast@berlin2023.org.
— Any other organizations with bulk-upload can contact mediacre@berlin2023.org

Public transport

Your credential serves as a ticket for public transport from 15 June until 25 June.

If you are already planning to use public transport to pick up your credential, you will need a ticket for this first trip.

Main Media Center (MMC) & International Broadcast Center (IBC)

IBC (Messe Berlin)

The IBC will be located at Hall 6.3 of the Berlin Messe (exhibition center). Only Host Broadcasters (HB) and Right-Holding Broadcasters (RHB) have access to the International Broadcast Center (IBC). Private office spaces without ceiling will be provided for HB and RHB usage (rate card item).

IBC Technical Set-up

As the central hub for all operations and services, the International Broadcast Center (IBC) will be set up as a temporary construction within the Messe Hall 6.3 in conjunction with OBvan UHD64 near the Messe Hall. All broadcasting transmission will be centralized at this location.

IBC Broadcast Service

As your first point of contact, the Broadcast Service will provide information on all questions you may have. Please remember to visit our office on your first days to pick up the following items:

•Camera Stickers
•SADs for dedicated positions
•VAPPs for Parking

MMC (Messe Berlin)

Inside the Main Media Center you will find the Media & Broadcaster Help Desk, a working room and a Media Lounge with comfortable seating, tables and lockers for photographer and camera equipment. The Help Desk provides assistance with broadcaster bookings, interview requests and print on demand among other services.

The Media Working Area provides workstations for media and photographers with WiFi throughout and LAN at selected workplaces.

A Press Conference Setup for press conferences is located next to the media workroom and offers extra workplaces as required.

Drinks such as tea, coffee and water are provided at the refreshment station.

Media have access to dedicated user-paid catering options around Messe.

Special Security Requirements are in place for entrance to the Opening Ceremony.

Registered Media will receive a media ticket, which will be handed out with the credential.

Photos

picdrop is an online service that stores photo and video galleries securely and permanently. You will receive a link to the picdrop galleries to view, select and download. All accredited media gets access to the photos provided and a handmade daily section of the photos of the day. All accredited media gets access to a selection of video content.

Scoopa is a cloud storage that enables high-speed uploads and downloads of content with broadcast quality. Access to scoopa will be limited to Rights-Holding Broadcaster. There are no installations needed. Users will be up and running immediately after an invite.

Radio Frequencies

Registration

All wireless equipment will need the approval of the Federal Network Agency of Germany (Bundesnetzagentur - BNA). For a check, please send us a list of the frequencies you are intending to use to frequenzmanagement@online.de

We will forward it to the BNA to make sure you will receive your, e.g. camera stickers upon arrival.

Venue Media Operations

General Information

All competition venues will have dedicated facilities for media and broadcasters, including media offices with WiFi and a limited number of workplaces, media grandstand seats, mixed zones for interviews, designated unilateral and photo positions. The Venue Media Offices are the hub of media and broadcaster services at most venues.

Cluster Broadcast and Media Managers, supported by a volunteer team of Venue Media Managers and Venue Media Operations teams will manage services and facilities on site. These include the following:

— Services for all sports at Messe will be provided at the co-located Main Media Center (MMC).
— Two Sub Media Centers at Olympic Park (OLC) and at Swimming (SSE).
— Media Seats at all Competition Venues are available on a first come, first served basis. Apart from SSE, these are untabled and unpowered unless booked via rate card.
— Mixed Zones at all Competition Venues.
— Designated Unilateral and Photo Positions.
— Drinks such as tea, coffee and water are provided at the refreshment station.
— There are food stalls for a paid catering option at all venues.
