The Global Athlete Congress is an international meeting where athletes from 7 Special Olympics programs come together to shape the path towards an inclusive society. Athlete spokespersons from around the world exchange ideas and develop new leadership skills. Also, they show the world that they can represent themselves and, with their individual skills, have an impact on socially relevant issues.

The aim is for the athletes to go back to their home countries empowered to advocate for greater inclusion in society in their own Special Olympics programs and cities.
