Basketball 3x3

Basketball 3x3 is new to Special Olympics.

In 2023, basketball 3x3 will be at the World Games for the first time.

 

How to play basketball 3x3:

Basketball 3x3 is a specific discipline of basketball.

2 teams play against each other.

There is only one basketball net.

Both teams have to throw the ball into the same net.

Unified Sports®

 
In Unified Sports®, people with ID and

people without disabilities play sport together.

They also compete together.

The people with ID are called athletes.

The people without disabilities are called partners.

 

Is basketball 3x3 a Unified Sport?

Yes.

There are teams of people with ID.

And there are teams of people with ID and people without disabilities.

 

How many people play basketball 3x3 at the World Games?

127 athletes and 33 partners.


Basketball 3x3 takes place next to Neptunbrunnen

in the City Cluster.
