Bowling

Since 1975, bowling has been part

of the Special Olympics World Games.

 

How to play bowling:

There are 10 pins.

Using a bowling ball, you have to knock down

as many pins as you can.

Each player has 12 goes.

Unified Sports®

In Unified Sports®, people with ID and

people without disabilities play sport together.

They also compete together.

The people with ID are called athletes.

The people without disabilities are called partners.

 

Is bowling a Unified Sport?

Yes.

There are teams of people with ID.

And there are teams of people with ID and people without disabilities.

 

How many people play bowling at the World Games?

210 athletes and 46 partners.
