After the successful National Games Berlin 2022, we as the local organizing committee took a little rest, but only to start all the more motivated into the preparations for the World Games. Kicking it off with a sportive team event: an inclusive triathlon.
World Games team members, employees of Special Olympics Germany and Special Olympics athlete Marcel Eckhardt met on Saturday morning, 27 August, to master an inclusive triathlon together at Berlin Wannsee.
The fully motivated triathlon gang already met up at 8 o'clock in the morning. One or the other might still have been a bit sleepy, but even the last spirits were awakened during the joint warm-up with good music.
By a total of 6 relays consisting of three persons each, the three disciplines swimming, cycling and running were covered.

All teams successfully mastered the distances, loudly cheered each other on and, above all, experienced a happy day together – while drawing attention to inclusive sports and our movement!
At the end of the sporty team event, not only did everyone receive a medal, which they proudly accepted, but they also sat together with snacks and drinks.
Now we go strengthened and motivated into the hot phase of preparations for the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023!
