From Athens to the Olympiastadion – but before that also from Fürstenwalde, Potsdam and Teltow to many Berlin districts. This is the route of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR®) Final Leg as part of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.

Already on 7 June, the Special Olympics Flame of Hope™ was ceremonially lit in Athens, Greece. Details of the ceremony in the famous temple Zappeion Megaron can be found here. After that, the great journey of our torch began.

The flight to Berlin was followed by many representative appearances before the actual torch run started on 14 June: For four days, the Flame of Hope™ is carried through the Host Towns in Brandenburg and Berlin.

The grand finale will be the reception at the Opening Ceremony in the Olympic Stadium Berlin on 17 June. Immediately after the official opening by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the emotional ignition ceremony of the flame is on the agenda.

More spectacular highlights of the Opening Ceremony and information on tickets can be found here.

But before the time comes, many happy athletes will proudly carry the flame through the streets of Brandenburg and Berlin, also to promote the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 once again before they start their competitions.

The exact routes and times of the torch run as well as more information about the background of the LETR® Final Leg can be found here:
