The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 is more than a major sporting event. Sports and culture spark emotions, bring people together, and can ultimately be used to reach the overall goal: promoting the importance of inclusion. Arts and cultural programs play an important part in changing attitudes by showcasing the abilities of people with intellectual disabilities off the playing field and in new ways.

Therefore, there will be an accompanying cultural program, offering cultural activities in this context, before and during the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.

The offerings will include the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony and a large variety of different cultural activities showcasing art, music, plays, monuments, and so much more. In addition, vibrant performances will be brought to the cultural stage at the Special Olympics Festival.

The cultural program will focus on those who are working to make disability more visible to help create a more inclusive world.
