There are only 100 days left until the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games takes place at Olympiastadion Berlin. A good occasion to give you a look behind the scenes, to wallow in anticipation together and to provide you with the most important infos.
7,000 athletes from 190 delegations enter the Olympiastadion in front of tens of thousands of cheering people. What a goosebump moment! In exactly 100 days, on 17 June 2023, the time will come. The perfect occasion to stimulate our imagination together with a beautiful video and to think about this special moment full of anticipation:
Fans in the Stands
Let us continue with our free fan engagement program "Fans in the Stands", which we talked about with our colleague Georgia Royes to give you some insights:
"If you're a school or sports club, an after school care, a senior's organization – any kind of group that exists is welcome to come along. The group must be 10 people or more."
Host Family Program
We bring families together – this is the motto of the Host Family Program. Families from Berlin and the surrounding areas meet traveling families from all countries of the world to exchange about culture and to have a great time together.
A wonderful opportunity, including a free ticket to the competitions, to make new friends and gain valuable experiences.
Registration is open until 28 March 2023.
Friends of the Games
There are also news about our Friends of the Games, who are famous people from sports, acting and entertainment committed to inclusion and to supporting us with their charisma and reach.
Special Olympics Shop
In our online store, you can find the collection with our claim #UnbeatableTogether right now. We would love to see as many people as possible carrying our message to the world – for example with the nice zip hoodie in gray.
Outlook: Let's get excited!
There will be another highlight next week: The official Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 mascot will be presented on 16 March 2023 in the ARD-Morgenmagazin (TV Morning show).
