Berlin 2023 team says thank you and see you soon!

The image is a mix of colorful graphic elements of the World Games logo and a photo of an athlete looking happy during a Madal ceremony. Inside the image is a line that says "Thank you for #Berlin2023 — and see you soon!".

An unforgettable journey lies behind us. Together we have taken the Special Olympics movement another step forward, given Germany and Berlin an important push for more inclusion and created moments for eternity. And for that, we want to thank you one last time.

Years of planning and preparation, many hurdles and challenges, as well as countless emotions and moments of happiness in the team – this is roughly how one could summarize the time spent on the Local Organizing Committee of the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin.

It certainly was not always easy, but we had the great goal in mind of providing all athletes and visitors with an unforgettable and great experience. And today we can proudly say that we have achieved this.

The photo shows a Spanish swimmer at the finish of the pool. She is holding onto the starting block with one hand while cheering with the other. She looks very happy doing this!

Undoubtedly only together with countless great people, without whom all this would not have been possible. We would therefore like to thank once again the athletes who gave us so much joy, their families, all volunteers, sports officials, partners and the entire Special Olympics family.

Of course, we hope that you all see yourselves as part of the Special Olympics family and continue to stay connected to the movement – be it in your local sports club or at the next Games.

To stay up to date, all the latest information on Special Olympics can be found here on the website of Special Olympics International..

Now, it just remains to say goodbye. Unfortunately, the journey for us as the #Berlin2023 team comes to an end at this point. But luckily, being part of the Special Olympics family, it is for certain no goodbye forever, but rather a joyful see you soon!
