On the third day of the Games, we are especially looking forward to a full sports calendar, the Unified Generation Day at the Special Olympics Festival at Neptunbrunnen and more. An overview of the day's highlights can be found here.
- Our athletes are active in 23 out of 26 sports today.
- The group phase begins in basketball, handball, tennis and volleyball.
- At the Special Olympics Festival at the Neptunbrunnen, the Unified Generation Day takes place.
- The family members of our athletes are expected at the Berlin Zoo for the family reception.

How quickly time flies when you are having fun! We have already arrived at competition day 3 and today we can again look forward to exciting sports.
Except for open water swimming (already finished), gymnastics-artistic (starts 23 June) and kayaking (starts tomorrow), all sports are in full swing.
In basketball, handball, tennis and volleyball, the group phase in which the athletes can qualify for the subsequent finals, starts today. All four sports are also represented as Unified Sports® at Berlin 2023.
A little bit of background information: Unified Sports® is a competitive approach in which people with and without intellectual disabilities compete together in a sport.
During our Games, a total of 16 sports will be played as Unified Sports®. This is a fun way to break down stereotypes. A visit is definitely recommended.

At our supporting program, the Special Olympics Festival, there is the Unified Generation Day happening today at Neptunbrunnen.
By the way, have you noticed that many groups of children come to watch the Games, especially in the mornings? They are part of our Fans in the Stands program, visiting our competitions with their kindergarten or school groups free of charge, cheering on our athletes on site, and trying out their own skills in the Activity Zone.
For last-minute visitors, tickets are still available for purchase online or on site (ticket payment only).
You cannot make it to Berlin? Then take a look at our overview of the TV coverage here.
