Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023
The Special Olympics World Games are the world's largest inclusive sports event. Thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities compete together.
From 17 to 25 June 2023, the Special Olympics World Games took place in Berlin and for the first time in Germany.
We celebrated a colorful international festival of sports – with the aim of achieving greater recognition and social participation of people with intellectual disabilities in our society.

This was the first day of the Games in Berlin
The first competition day of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 is behind us. It was full of athletic ambition, good mood and many new experiences. Here you can find a selection of our pictures and videos of the day.
Healthy Athletes® program officially started
Permanently improving health care for people with intellectual disabilities – this is the goal of the Healthy Athletes® program, which is also taking place as part of our Games and was ceremoniously opened today in the CityCube of Messe Berlin.

Olympiapark

Here the competitions in 3x3 basketball, cycling and beach volleyball take place:
There will also be the Special Olympics Festival at Neptunbrunnen and various highlight events at Brandenburg Gate, as well as the big Closing Ceremony.

In the SSE (swimming and diving hall at Europasportpark) you can see the competitions in swimming:
